Earlier this year we received a call from Rolf Fuernsinn from North Bundy News his newsagency was one of the many businesses inundated during the terrible Bundaberg floods. Unfortunately it wasn’t the first time he had been flood affected.
He needed a newsagency fitout that could be easily removed if the word came that a flood was on the way.
Revolution Retail’s metal fixturing was the answer. The metal wall fixtures can be pulled apart whilst the gondola units were on heavy duty castors. The Golden Casket and general counters (including the Golden Casket writing bench) were constructed on heavy-duty steel framed bases that can be ’trolley jacked’ to a waiting truck and away from any danger of flooding.
The electrical and data cabling to the counters was also a factor to be taken into account. A bespoke solution was found, pre-wired, it’s basically a plug-in and play set up. If a flood comes, you can plug-out and go.
It’s a simple fitout that looks great, was cost effective and used local contractors to help Bundaberg’s economy.
Let’s hope that those mobile units never have to be used!
